Winter is almost here!

Again this year the Mary Jane Owen Circle will be collecting coats for Cummings School Clothes Closet on November 9 – December 13.

Boys and girls new coats sizes 7 to 18 will be collected by any member of the circle or the coats may be left at the church.

Volunteers from Metropolitan for Services to Cummings School

During the 2015 -2016 School Year


Team Read Volunteer Tutoring Program – 50 volunteers needed

Giving weekly tutoring for two second grade students for 30 minutes each with provided materials


Training and materials provided for all tutors (Training to begin soon). No professional education experience needed.


Read Around the Christmas Tree Program (date/time TBA) – 50 volunteers needed


Pre-kindergarten – third grade students involved

Volunteer purchases a book from list of grade appropriate suggestions and read to student in cafeteria, which will be filled with other approximately 400 volunteers and their students.


Donation of new school uniforms (pants, skirts, shirts, belts) – entire Metropolitan Family


Uniforms include: pants or skirts – khaki or navy, sizes 4 –20; shirts – burgundy or white, sizes s – 2x; belts – brown or black, sizes s – xl. There is a great need for larger sizes.


Sign-up sheets will be provided for volunteers and donors.
